I dont drink POM Wonderful juice and I never knew about the dealings of the company until a friend brought it up to me. He is getting a bill passed at my school to boycott POM and here is why.

Many animal rights organizations are calling POM Wonderful out on their funding of animal testing. ompanies have refused to abandon their funding of cruel animal tests.

Juice-maker POM Wonderful has refused to follow the lead of its competitors, stating: “[W]e do choose to fund [animal] research …. We are not ashamed of this fact.

Here are examples of some of their useless and cruel animal testing

1. Lock week-old mouse pups—whose mothers were fed pomegranate juice—in a chamber with almost no oxygen for 45 minutes in order to induce severe brain damage. The babies were decapitated, and their brains were removed for study.

2.Critically damage the arteries of rabbits in order to simulate erectile dysfunction—a bizarre attempt to suggest that drinking pomegranate juice might alleviate this ailment.

3. Induce heart disease (atherosclerosis) in mice who were fed POM—the mice were then killed and cut open to examine their hearts

Remember this is just a small example of some of the testing that POM has funded. Many animal rights organizations have approched POM Wonderful about conducting studies to determine the health benefits of pomegranate juice on willing human volunteers. It has been proved time and time again that non-animal test methods are more reliable, accurate, and applicable to humans than animal tests are—and more than 20 of POM’s competitors do not fund any experiments on animals.

Im posting this because I believe that this type of cruel animal testing for "health benefits" is wrong specially when testing on humans is easy and wont require any of the crap POM has been doing. With so many juice companies out there who do not test on animals boycotting POM Wonderful should be easy.
SO PLEASE DO NOT DRINK PRODUCTS FROM POM WONDERFUL
