Malibu is being evacuated
Ventura county has a fire.
There is a fire in Castaic
My mom just called and said that there is a fire somewhere near her but there is no coverage of it on the news because everyone is focused on Malibu
Damn you Santa Ana winds damn you!!!!!!
UPDATE:
San Diego is now on fire. People are being evacuated. My beloved Wild Animal Park is shut down and moving some of their animals (mostly the endangered species and small animals)
My mom is good. Thanks for the concern everyone. The fire was further down from her than it appeared but of course there still is always a risk because of the dry conditions.
Interesting fact: The Santa Ana winds which are fueling all of these fires used to be called the Santana winds. Basically translated means the Devil Winds

Yeah, now Canyon Country is on fire. Bad news. I've had Bad Religion's "The Hills of Los Angeles are Burning" in my head ALL freaking DAY. It's not funny, but it's so horribly appropriate that I can't help it. I'm glad they evacuated the animal hospital in Malibu. :S Did you see the interview with those two douchebag students from Pepperdine this morning, Jess? Before they evacuated they were all gathered in their cafeteria, and two snuck out to "experience this once in a lifetime opportunity".
They were smiling like it was no big deal, meanwhile two ladies in tears walked past because they were about to be forced to leave. Assholes.
Well Malibu is filled with a lot of douches
Its kind of become a fact of life living with fires but to have so many break out on one day is crazy
so sad.

Oh man Jess!!!!! Sorry to hear about all the fires. I hope your mom will be okay and stays safe!!! I haven't been covering the news for days, I didn't know anything about this!!! That's scary!!! We had a whole bunch of fires break out last summer in Fl.

I lived in Laguna Niguel when the Laguna Beach fire happened and they were just about to make us leave.. we had packed our car and we were standing outside watching ash rain down on us.. its interesting what suddenly becomes important and what you don't even think twice about leaving behind when all you can take is a car load.
I will be thinking about you and sending good thoughts and prayers to you and your family and friends.
Where does your mom live? Is she safe this morning? Freaking Canyon Country went nuts overnight, now that seems to be the one our news stations were focused on this morning.
Yeah my mom is good. The fire was in Glen Helen and more towards Fontana. Shes in Norco right now
